1. Analyzed monographic series:

Catalog the individual volumes as monographs. Then:

  • If there is a serial record in ANTPAC with a full check-in record, route the cataloged volumes to the appropriate check-in unit (Cataloging Fed Docs or Acq. Serials Receiving).
  • If there is a serial record in ANTPAC with no check-in record, or with a check-in record that only states "For holdings consult the Government Publications Department", print this serial record and forward it to Cataloging Fed Docs for deletion.
  • If there is a serial record in ANTPAC with multiple locations, but the GID holdings are not recorded route this record to Cataloging Fed Docs so that they may record the GID holdings and create a check-in record.
  • If there is no serial record in ANTPAC, do not route any paperwork or volumes to Cataloging Fed Docs or Serials Receiving. No serial record is needed.

Note: Make sure there is a full series authority record in ANTPAC for all analyzed monographic series with serial records.

2. Monographic series that are not analyzed:

  • If there is a serial record in ANTPAC with a full check-in record, route the volumes to the appropriate check-in unit (Cataloging Fed Docs or Acq. Serials Receiving).
  • If there is a serial record in ANTPAC but there is no check-in record attached, route the volumes to the appropriate shelf (Cataloging Fed Docs Shelf or Serials Shelf).
  • If the unanalyzed series has multiple locations and there is a check-in record only for the non-GID location, route the volumes to the appropriate shelf (Cataloging Fed Docs Shelf or Serials Shelf).

Note: Make sure there is a full series authority record stating the treatment.

3. Serial titles:

  • If there is a serial record in ANTPAC with a full check-in record, route the volumes to the appropriate check-in unit (Cataloging Fed Docs or Acq. Serials Receiving).
  • If there is a serial record in ANTPAC but there is no check-in record attached to it

--or--

if there is no serial record found in ANTPAC but there are monographic records for the same serials title:

--THEN--

print all the monographic records and the OCLC record for the serial (if found) and route these records, along with the volumes, to the appropriate shelf (Cataloging Fed Docs Shelf or Serials Shelf).

4. New Serial titles:

Put the volumes on the appropriate shelf (Cataloging Fed Docs "New Serials Titles" shelf or Serials "New Serial Titles" shelf).
